God’s Gift of Discipline

Last week we celebrated the glorious victory our King has over death. Our King endured the hostility of sinners so that
those sinners might be saved and become sons. This morning we are called to walk in the path our Savior has set before
us. Jesus traveled through deep rivers of sorrow and so will we, but His grace all sufficient shall be our supply. He
endured the cross and now He stands ready to save, full of pity, love, and power. He has run the race set before Him
and now we run looking only unto Him. We have died with Him and now we will also live with Him. We will grow
faint and weary and faithless, but He will remain faithful. He hears our broken-hearted cries and leads us to the higher
rock. Sometimes there will be scenes of deepest gloom, but He leads us by His own hand. We live in the power of the
resurrection and one day, Christ will come again, and we shall bow in humble adoration and proclaim, “My God how
great Thou art!” —Emma Marsh
